  1. Are you doing IVF? They usually prescribe lupron to stop ovulation during  IVF.  It's usually started right before you start your period and is taken until you get your HCG trigger shot. I used Cetrotide, which is basically the same thing, but I only had to take it for 4 days (when my follicles started to get larger).  I don't know how much it costs. This is the drug company we used when we got our meds for IVF- http://www.freedomdrug.com/, maybe they can help you! Good luck!

  2. Sorry, don't have experience with Lurpon but we did do one complete medicated cycle with IUI (not IVF). It didn't include Lupron in the injectable cycle.  Are  you doing an IVF cycle?

Lupron is usually used in IVF (for egg retrieval process).  It is used to "precisely" control when you do ovulate (so eggs can be retrieved).  It does this by preventing levels of estrogen being built in our body (which in turn prevents LH spike / ovulation).  The LH spike (thus ovulation) is then artificially induced by hcG shot.  Link below on the details.

    Good luck.
