  1. definitely motor ship.

  2. The second guy is right, I thought he was wrong, I thought it stood for Merchant Ship, but no it is Motor Ship.huh....

  3. Mermaid Ship

  4. Motor Ship, as it has (most likely) diesel engine(s), but not steam engines, which would make it a SS.

    Regards,

    Dan

  5. MS means motor ship and SS is steam ship

  6. Motor Ship...yup, that's it.

    Good Luck...

  9. It depends on the type of vessel. On a Navy ship, it would be used on a Mine Sweeper, on a merchant ship it could be Mail Ship (Titanic was RMS....Royal Mail Ship).

The Term MS on a motor ship is normally substituted for the less confusing title of MV, Motor Vessel.

  10. I remember hearing M.V. over the radio years ago  It stood for Motor Vessel.  M.S.  is the variant  Motor Ship,  The navy uses USS  or United States Ship.... H.M.S.  His/Her Majesty's Ship.....there's a lot of variations around the world keep looking and you'll find some surprising ones.
