What does Medicare Part A cover?

I tried looking at medicare.gov but it's confusing.

  1. First, know there are eligibility requirements for medicare Part A. Medicare Part A covers:

    -Inpatient hospital

    -Skilled Nursing Facilities (a facility that provides nursing care, physical therapy etc..and you are residing there at the time) THIS IS NOT A NURSING HOME

    -Some Home Health care and hospice

  2. Medicare Part A covers inpatient hospital only. There is a $1024 per occurance deductible. This means if you go into the hospital 5 times in a year you can have up to 5 deducitbles. Part A does not include any doctor visits, ER, urgent care, outpatient surgery, or any other outpatient services. For this you need Medicare Part B.
