What does N.E mean? (minneapolis area)?

We live in minneapolis and we went to a store and got I Heart N.E. Buttons. We allso saw shirts in a few more stores had the buttons too, Can anyone tell us what it means?

N.E. normally stands for New England. If there was some type of logo on the pin then it may be a New England Patriots button. They were in the past Super Bowl.
