When my laptop starts up a box pops up that says C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.... could not be loaded. What does that mean and how do I fix it. I have a new Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop with Windows Vista.

  1. Try doing an uninstall/reinstall of the framework. If problem still occurs, check to see where the framework is loaded, copying (NOT moving) it to the location that pops up in the error, since obviously something expects it there.

  2. It means exactly what it says: Some program has asked the .NET runtime to start, and it failed to do so.

This can be fixed by reinstalling .NET Framework 2.0
