What does PSI stand for?

I live in SC, and every once in a while when I am driving down the street, I see an orange sign that has been taped over with a black and white sign that says PSI in big bold letters.

  1. Pressure per Square Inch is the common anagram for PSI, but i'm not sure what it would be in regards to...

    Perhaps they are telling you to check you tire pressure for safety reasons... It seems to be a relatively common thing like signs that say buckle up
