  1. I believe that he is saying that a person is a being only when he communicates with another being at some level.

    Just as a tree falling in the woods makes no sound if a being isn't in range to hear it, a human doesn't exist unless another being perceives and communicates with it.

    To me, those are ridiculous concepts.
