I think they're great, and in my opinion pretty underrated.

Here are some links if you haven't heard any of their stuff yet:

Pepper (not my favorite, but probably their biggest mainstream hit)

Sweat Loaf

For those of you that already like them what are your favorite albums/songs?

My favorite album of theirs is Locust Abortion Technician, if you haven't heard it I would definitely recommend it. My top 5 tracks are probably 1.Pittsburgh to Lebanon, 2.Sweat Loaf, 3.Hey, 4.Space, 5. Cowboy Bob. I know I will probably get some guitar hero fans saying they're favorite song is Who Was In My Room Last Night.

  1. 1 hit wonder

  2. You know, I'm pretty interested in them. I've heard Pepper before (when I was younger) and I think it's a good song. I'm listening to Sweet Loaf right now and it sounds great.

I'll probably pick up an album once I get some freaking money. I hate the concept of buying albums when you don't have money lol ;)

  3. pepper is ******* sick

one of the best bands around today

  4. i bougt locust abortion tech in 89,,,,,independant worm saloon is very good.

  5. Sound similar to the Bloodhound Gang which isn't a bad thing. I'd heard of the name b4 but not their music but i've bookmarked their songs for further listening, thanks TL.

  6. Holy ****! Where has this band been all my life?! Haha

Admittedly, I've heard of them but never listened to them, but I can honestly say, I absolutely loved those two songs. Especially Pepper - kind of Beck-ish. Animal Collective can wait, I'm getting something by these guys first.

I'm listening to Cough Syrup now, I'm going to like this band. :D

...Listening to Creep In The Cellar.. Hahahaha

  7. I love them. I have  Locust Abortion Technician on vinyl. Bought it back in 1989 or so...    I love how they rip on some of the popular bands from the early 90's on Pioughed.     For example "something" could have come right off a Jesus & Mary Chain album P.S.Y might have well been a big hit for the Smashing Pumpkins...And the hurdy gurdy man cover is one of my favorites!  I love them live.  I have seen them 3 times, and what a show!

  8. Oh man, I could go on for days about the first time I saw them live at Iguana's, Tijuana in 1989.

That place had some legendary shows.

Locust Abortion Technician is my absolute favorite album of theirs.

  9. i like them, their music is fun

  10. They had a brief high point and then they fell from that top.

the guy should have remained in Ministry

  11. I think I just dropped something..I'll pick it up now..looks like a set list..I think..'Hairway To Steven' or something..King St,Newtown,Sydney sure was a funny place in those days..skinheads with clown make-up..I thought I was at the circus.

  12. New heard anything buy them, I've just been interested in the name, lmao. But I'll check out the songs you posted.

  13. I went to a show in Dallas when I was like, eleven and thought I was gonna get killed.

    Lotsa mowhawk'd rednecks.

  14. I'm sorry we don't like the Jonas Brothers.

    Get it? XD

  15. They kick ***. Gibby Haynes is becoming a Texas rock legend.

My favorite's always been "Independent Worm Saloon"

  16. Never heard of them until now, and I can see why. They're not that good.

  17. Crazy as h**l  and along with Scratch Acid (later The Jesus Lizard), one of my favorite bands out of my home state of Texas.  Sweat Loaf and Human Cannonball are my favorite tracks off their best album Locust Abortion Technician but the one one that gets me is 22 going on 23, an extremely disturbing track that sends chills down my spine.  I had a lot of exposure to them in college as a friend of mine was friends with Jeff Pinkus and truly a hardcore Surfers (and Daddy Longhead) fan.  Although it's hard to listen to at times, Rembrandt Pussyhorse is solid as is everything until Independent Worm Saloon, their last good piece of work.

  18. Thankfully this is one band I didn't have to discover on my own. Their albums were mixed in with some other great ones at my cousin's house when I was a bit younger. I immediately fell in love with the quirkiness that is b******e Surfers.

Funny, a lot of people give them c**p for the name when they don't understand anything about the band. I guess it doesn't offend me the way it does others. Imagine what that name sounded like in the 80s. Kids.....

Thanks for bringing this band to light in R&P. As usual, you get minimal responses from the thousands of people who visit R&P. I bet if this question was, What Does R&P Think of Metallica? 40 people would answer. But, since you posted links and it's a band people actually have to listen to, instead of using recycled knowledge from other peoples answers, yeah........

Pepper is one of my least favorite songs by them.

Locust is a sick album, but my first of course, being Electric....as that was the album that drew me in (the album cover, seriously). I need Psychic to complete my collection.

  19. They probably are good, and I probably will get into them, but at the moment the name puts me off.

  20. they are cool

  21. Yeah I like them okay.  I only own one of their CDs (Electriclarryland) and I like it.  I know that is their most 'mainstream' album and they have lots of older stuff but I honestly haven't heard much of it, but from what I remember I liked most of the stuff I've heard from them.

I need to check out more of their stuff for sure...
