  2. He needs to win the Roger's Cup to be number 1.  Let's hope he does it.  Roger's reign is over!

  3. Some more sit-ups, he is getting a beer gut from the celebration parties from all that winning.

  4. It be ok

  5. He doesn't need to do anything. A decent showing in the US Open and he's number one. Let me do some calculations and get back to you.

    Actually check out this article.

Federer currently leads Nadal by 770 points. But after last years points from Toronto and Cincy have been deducted, Federer will lead Nadal by only 145. That means in Toronto, Cincy and the Olympics, Nadal only needs to better Federer by 145 points, and he is number one. Federer's early loss in Toronto has put Nadal in a strong position.

The only catch is that he'll have to wait till August 18 to officially be number one. But I don't think there is anything Federer can do  between now and then to stop it from happening.

  6. He nedds to continue his winning ways, along with his current streak of consecutive match wins at 26, and show he can play on  the hard courts consistently and be a threat. If he wins in Toronto, which unfortunately I dont think he will, he will also have to do well next week in Cincy to over take Federer. However with Novak defending a bunch of points for winning this last season, Nadal only has more to gain. On both of them.

  7. It should happen VERY SOON!!! If Rafa wins Toronto he will be within 288 points from Roger and with the US to come, Roger can only lose or defend ranking points as he won it last year whereas if Rafa gets past the 4th round he will gain points-It should happen very soon-One would think by the end of the year Rafa would of had atleast 3 weeks at no.1!!!!!! The rivalry is getting even more exciting I just hope Roger can rise to the task!

  8. rafa would have to win the whole title i believe.. and he may be the new world number 1..

he is awesome.... i hope he keeps going up from this point.. and if he just beefs up his hardcourt game... he can have more wins on that surface as well...

  9. Alright well let's have a look at the current points following Roger's untimely defeat to Gilles Simon.

    Federer: 6285

    Nadal: 5830

In order for Nadal to be world number 1 before the US Open he has to at least defend his semi finalist points in Toronto for his points to not drop. Best case scenario for Nadal fans is if Nadal wins Toronto he'll gain an extra 275 points, putting him at  6105 -- but still not enough for world number 1. Assuming Nadal can win Toronto, then he can officially become world number 1 in Cincinnati if he makes the semi finals there regardless of whether Roger defends his title there or not. All Nadal need do is make the semis, even if Roger wins the title. Assuming Roger wins Cincinnati his points will stay the same at 6285. Nadal winning Toronto and reaching the semi finals of Cincinnati will put Nadal's points at 6295 -- barely enough for the world number 1 ranking by a mere 10 points.
