  1. They wants just show their power...and show they can destroy fast, I don't like this can be terrible for people

  2. Control of a State w/in Georgia that is overwhelmingly Russian whose citizens were being persecuted by Georgians.  Of course, they will get respect, they had no choice, they have many break away Republics the same may start happening in.  What do you think would happen if Texas broke away then started persecuting citizens of Dallas for wanting to remain Americans?

  3. wow, some people are very mean to russians.

i am russian, and we are not stupid, or anything. -__-

Georgia started it, they been prosicuting russians, and such. and has sent harsh messages to our goverment, saying this and that.

  4. It is quite the opposite. Georgia invaded territories where there is a majority Russian population and killed more than 2000 civilians. Russia was just defending it's citizens. I wish Russia bombs those freaking Georgians, who first attack than play victims when bombed.

  5. Russia did not invade Georgia. Georgia invaded S.Ossetia again slaughtering civilians (The first time Georgia did it in 1991)

Russia is protecting civilians according to its obligations.

After the peace treaty (that will provide 200% safety to S.Ossetia) will be signed russian army will be out of Georgia.

  6. lots of pride within the dysfunctional russia, they are sending a message to the west.fk you ! welcome to the beginning of the NEW COLD WAR courtesy of comrade putin !

  7. To protect citizens and peacekeepers.

Georgia has no interesting things ( like oil ) at all, even for USA.

  8. They don't gain anything economically or politically, but they aren't there to set up camp for years on end, like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their attacks are simply retribution, against a country that attacked separatists it considers citizens of Russia. An agreement will probably be reached relatively soon, and it'll eventually return back to the way it was before, two bordering country's with a strong hatred with one another, on the brink of war over the smallest issue.

Is invading a sovereign nation just to get even worth it? I think that it is obviously worth it to them, because it's in human nature to meet violence with violence. Whenever your people are killed, the only logical response in a politicians mind is to respond with equal or greater prejudice, it is just the way these things happen. We did the same thing after 9/11.

  9. Theres a oil pipeline running through Georgia that transfers oil to the rest of Europe, this is one of the only pipelines that Russia doesn't control. So they are trying to either destroy it, or take control of it so they have 100% control over the oil that goes to Europe

    Control of energy = power.

  10. Innocent lives. The russians are cold blooded people and a little stupid. I hope we invade them and bomb them like crazy.

  11. Russia is trying to protect another small tribe that georgia was invading... I don't think they were right to do as much violence as they did but I hope people see that the Georgian ruler is trying to get Bush on his side by turning the U.S. and Russia against each other.

He wants more land and power than he has and he can only accomplish this by getting the U.S. involved. He's starting way to big a conflict.
