What does Sambuca taste like?,

  1. Sambuca is an Italian Liqueur made from the Sambuca Plant, whose fruit is close to aniseed in flavour.

    The aniseed flavour is a love / hate flavour - you either love it or hate it.  Sambuca is often drunk after espresso coffee to end a meal.

    Its a strong flavour - very warming and it is advised to only drink good quality Sambuca in small quantities.

  4. A above, it tastes of liquorice, with a slight kick. I adore it and a holiday favourite of mine. Don't bother mixing it, setting it alight or downing it in one. Try tasting it first. If you like it, then neck it in one. If not, still neck it, but mae sure you have another drink to take the taste away.

    I prefer Pernod (aniseed). If you like Pernod, you will like Sambucca.

  16. It has a minty/liqouricey taste to it, Anise is used so it has aromatic and taste properties of this plant which make it sweet.

  19. It does taste just like liquorce... go for tequila instead then you can try different flavours like coca cole tequila and white chocolate tequila ;)

  22. As many have said, aniseed. Don't forget though, it comes in many flavours now - if you're in the UK, most wetherspoons pubs offer the banana and raspberry flavours for starters.

    lots of drinks do, such as Ouzo

    It has licorice like components such as a very sweet sugary taste and it smells lovely.

  25. it does taste like licorise but will make you sick, like hurling sick, if you are like me at all....swear to gawd...was the sickest I have ever been...ugh!
