  1. Sassafrass is actually a plant used in the seasoning of foods and beverages. For example the dried roots are used to flavor rootbeer.

The usage of sassafras in the Aerosmith songs are meant to be a substitue for the word a$$

  2. Sassafrass is a species of tree that is found widely across the American Midwest.  At one time during settlement, the roots of the tree were ground up and used to make tea.  It was believed, as I recall,  that the brew had some medicinal value.  The wood could be used for some kinds of building, but placed in the fireplace it pops and throws sparks and enmbers out into the toom.

Interstingly, the leaves of the tree change their form three times as it passes through time and matures  Now it is considered pretty much of a "trash tree."

  3. Sassafras is a type of tree.

  4. In the songs it means the last 3 letters of the word. Otherwise it's a tree and it can also mean weed.

  5. sassafrass is a sass with a frass!!!!!!
