I was watching ABC Family, and there was a commercial with the lead actress of the Secret Life Of An American Teenager, and she was wearing this brace looking thing. I didn't catch what is was. Does anyone know what it is, and what its for?

She is wearing a brace for scoliosis.  She's been wearing it for a 1 1/2 years and will wear it for about another 4 months for an S curviture in her back.
