Hi, I'm going to start swimming with my friend but first I would really like to know if:

Swimming burns fat

and what benefits it has for my health and some helpful tips would be appreciated :D thankyou

  1. It gives you a good cardio work out with out the added stress on your body that you get with things like running.


  2. Funny, I was just at a hotel resort in Mexico at the pool. There I met 5 girls who were talking about this subject. One of the girls stated she was an aerobics instructor. She studied aquatic workouts in order to teach classes. She stated that at her club she switched to teaching the class and had some follow her over from her normal aerobics class to the pool. After one month she said she gained weight as did most that followed her over from the normal gym type aerobic classes.  In her opinion it was only good for extremely overweight, elderly, or people rehabbing an injury.

    Of course its better than doing nothing and any exercise will burn fat. Swimming will help define your mussels and improve your stanima.

  3. Swimming burns calories, and from that fat burns. It is wonderful for your health. It works most areas of your body, which most sports do not. Good luck and have fun with it.
