Let parents parent their children and stop labeling everything that parents teach their children as "abuse" for one (only one) example.

I am not anti-abortion, certainly.  But no matter a person's beliefs, I don't think that they need to be an activist in order to hold them...

Just because someone does not believe in abortion does not mean that they are on the hook to fix the problems created by unwanted pregnancies!

I am not sure of the solution.  I am not an expert and have thought about adoption or foster care, but my husband does not want any more children.   The one we have we can barely afford.  One thought comes to mind, why don't some of the celebrities that are going overseas to adopt, try to help Foster care here (US), by taking in a child from foster care instead?

Certainly not killing babies.  

Both the foster care system and abortion result  from the same problem.. Irresponsible selfish people that value there own life more than others.  They want to do want they want and to h*ll with anyone that gets in their way.  The solution  lies with these people , not me.  I didn't realize it was my job to make sure these people never have to own up to their responsibilities. How foolish of me.

Are you suggesting that abortion could be a "solution" to the overrun foster care system? That seems a bit extreme.

I am personally pro-choice (which does NOT make me "pro-abortion"), but it has nothing to do with the foster care system.

What is your solution? Unrestricted abortion to any woman, isn't the 1.2 million abortions a year enough already? Those children in the foster care were born when abortion was legal so what are you suggesting? That they should've been aborted? Where do you draw the line between what life is valuable or not? Abortion doesn't help the problem and what do you plan to do about the children in the foster care? Just look at them and think how much better their life would've been if they weren't born? People like you don't help the abortion debate, you are just as bad as the evangelical pro-lifers. There is no room for a different opinion when discussing with you.

You bring up a good point, if they are so over run already why don't we just continue the spirit of abortion and drown the unwanted kids, think of how much money and effort it will save, think of all the future crime it will prevent,

I agree with you that thier is no easy answer to the abortion question, but try to atleast see WHY people are objecting to abortion, it has nothing to do with economics

nice name debs - i think everyone should be sterilised asap and if they want kids then they have to pay to reverse the operation.  this will do away with the abortion debate (altho the hardcore god squad may be against sterilisation too).

This way only wanted children will be born and everything and everyone will be happier.  h**l i should be world president im full of good ideas

I honestly believe if a person gets an abortion (especially as a form of birth control ...due to an "oops, had unprotected s*x") ....they should be put on mandatory birth control for at least 5 years .......but that is just my opinion, and who am I ??

The children currently in foster care were born when abortion was legal.  Their parents chose not to abort them.  Are you suggesting the foster care system is overrun because these children were allowed to live, when they shouldn't have been?  That's not the kind of country we live in.  I think the more likely cause for the large number of kids in foster care is parental drug abuse.  What am I doing about it?  Aside from not using drugs myself, and keeping custody of the children I created, not much.  What do you suggest?  EDIT:  Phil, I said the children CURRENTLY in foster care were born when abortion was LEGAL.  That means those parents were free to abort, but didn't.  That the foster system is now over burdened has nothing to do with abortion, or children born 35 years ago.  No re-thinking necessary.
