    WYD is a Roman Catholic Church event. It happens every 2-3 years at different locations and lasts for one week. It brings together hundreds of thousands of youth from all over the world.

    During the world youth day the youth is involved in numerous events, such as workshops, ceremonies and concerts, that celebrate the catholic religion.

    This year this event was in Sydney, Australia which is why SYD. There was about 600,000 youth here in Sydney during that week.

    The next WYD is in Spain in 2011.
