First by making the "W" the only upper case letter in the new logo originally all upper case designed the brand comes across as friendly and approachable. The asterisk like object is supposed to represent a flow of energy. The logo is widely seen as better utilized across mediums. In today's ever changing and expanding world corporate logos must have kinetic movement and can no longer be stagnant. In today's business and cultural landscape Walmart must compete with web brands such as Amazon. This increased competition requires a youthanizing and expansion of the brand.
