Although he knows God, he doesn't understand God  but because he can think and feel and is capable of many thoughts and opinions,He is multitudes, he has many sides to his nature, he can hold many opposing thoughts.He wants men to get in touch with their souls, their  true natures and understand how deep and varied one's own self is.
