  1. Winter is the season of Death.

If you don't die, you thrive and survive through it. It is the time in the life cycle where you're presented with many challenges. (Why do I need to wake up so early? The sun's not even up yet!) (I don't want to go to work, it's too cold outside)

  2. Winter represents a time of rest from the cycle of growth and bloom. Animals will hibernate, others protect themselves by change of colour in their fur such as snow rabbits. It can be a time of want, starvation for animals where they need to dig for the vegetation underneath the snow. For some human beings it's no great time either, if you're poor and homeless, it must be the bottom of living! Well, let's not get too depressing.

The better things about winter is that it kills or controls all the nasty bugs that would otherwise take over our forests. It sure makes Christmas a lot nicer to see the snow everywhere. Kids love the snow but car drivers hate it of course. Some people get stuck with having to shovel their sidewalks and driveways to get rid of the loads of snowfall. One thing that's very pleasant is that in a heavy snowfall it becomes nice and silent for a while, as if the snow absorbs all the traffic noises around.

Sports: those out for a good time can find it on the ski slopes, and if the weather is short on snowfall there's a way of manufacturing snow for the skiers out for a funfilled time. That just leaves me, sitting at home in a heavy snowfall and not able to get out to the store for bread and milk as the snow is just too deep to walk in.

Happy snow memories to you!  ;- )

  3. Winter represents the part of life where you had to fight hardest to make it through. I think that some people have more seasons than others.

  4. Death, darkness, and suffering, and by extension, perseverance and a renewed hope in the far-off distance.
