The Republican GOD seems bent on the destruction of Iraq and the development of natural resources. My God is more into accepting others and working together for a better world. Oh well, I guess that's why I'm voting Obama.

Ignore the commandments forbidding killing and stealing when "national interests" are at stake.  

Ex:  We "need" oil so we can use whatever means necessary to acquire it.

My God loves me and wants me to be happy . . . and no  d@mned America-hating, terrorist-appeasing, Bush-bashing, Muslim-hugging son of a ***** is going to keep me from being happy.

God spoke to me and told me that corporations should be granted absolute power, and that the U.S Constitution should be discarded in favor of a corporatist, statist, fascist DICTATORSHIP.

He further went on to tell me that anyone who wasn't 100% with me was 100% AGAINST me.  There is NO middle ground.

Finally, God spoke to me and told me --and He was VERY clear on this point--  anyone or anything that stands in the way of me accumulating more power and more money is evil, vile, disgusting, UNPATRIOTIC, and the darkest work of SATAN.

Those who would limit MY power and MY wealth, are EXACTLY the same as Osama Bin Laden, and should be hunted down and tortured in the most violent way, and then killed.

All who disagree with me are disagreeing with God himself.

Anyway, that's what He told me.

By the way, if you dare to QUESTION the validity of this, YOU are going to burn in h**l.

My God tells me to protect human life, which He created, and protect marriage, which He also created. He cares more about saving people on the earth than saving the earth itself. He also gives the government the power of the sword to protect its people. I guess that's why I'm voting for McCain.

I really wish some of the people like you would go on eBay or something and buy yourselves an open mind instead of interpreting things only as they are spoon fed to you by the media. Those articles sound like they were written by someone who is unfamiliar with religion and therefore is unable to understand the situation they are reporting about.

Here is one of her quotes (from those articles):

"That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

What exactly is wrong about praying and hoping that it's the right choice and that the right thing is being done?  She's not saying that God spoke to her and told her what to do. She's saying that we (those she was speaking to) should pray that we are taking the right action and that it's work God would approve of.

Most religions are not about following God's orders. They are about trying to follow in his footsteps and do what you think is right based on what you believe and what the religion teaches.  The anti-religious really need to understand that when people use "God" it is usually more figuratively than literally. It more often refers to the teachings and values of that particular religion rather than a specific person giving out orders. Religion in some ways is often a different language, leaving it to be easily misunderstood by those who don't understand it.

My GOD doesn't tell me who to vote for by name . I am supposed to follow my conscience. In other words by their fruits ye shall know them! So if the candidate follows your belief system then you know. Now joking aside. The Democratic Party held the highest office at the beginning of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia (That was some Democratic leadership!) and Bosnia. Is that your God at work?
