What does a 16 year old girl have to do to get emancipated from an alcoholic mother who beats her?

what are the steps they would have to go through... is that enough to get out?

  1. Petition family court.  That means contact them with your information.


  2. You can report mom for her abuse, call child protective services..and call a close relative that you trust and can support you

  3. Call child services. But you'd be better staying in a foster home than getting emancipated. It's weird living with strangers, but it's a lot nicer than spending every hour you're not in school working to pay rent and buy ramen. Or worse, dropping out of school and working minimum wage for the rest of your life.  

  4. Call Child Protective Services and put yourself in foster care.

  5. Report the mother for child abuse.

  6. TELL SOMEONE!!! Or call cps and get the case looked at. They can help

  7. prove to the court she can support herself.

    look elsewhere for a solution - talk to a trusted adult at school. if you are being beaten, they will know how to get you immediate help and that help will help you with a longer term solution too.
