What does a 16 year old in NJ need to do to get a permit?

I've already passed the written test in Drivers ed, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I was born in 1992 and don't they have new laws for those born in that year? I'm not sure what to do and the motor vehicles website just confuses me...help??

call up a driving instructor sign up pay the fee he'll give you a form take that form along with birth certificate and the proof u passed the permit course along with your social to the dmv and they will let you take the test
