I think what you are referring to is the grading system we use to quantify what we see.  We grade alot of things, cataracts, dry eye, etc., and it is (naturally) highly variable from doctor to doctor.  One persons 2 may be anothers 3 or vice versa.  The grading scale goes from trace-1-2-3-4-4+ (little to severe) so grade two for you falls in the middle range.  Since we are grading a cataract it is difficult for me to assess whether or not it is significant enough to decrease vision, but I'm sure your doctor covered that with you.  In any case, hope this has helped, Take Care
