  1. Washable markers

    Crayons (usually a 16 pack)

    pencils

she may need scribblers with the 2 wide lines with the dotted one in the middle (the supply list was even more vag)

    scissors (rounded)

    lunch bag

bottle or 2 of glue sticks are to messy and liquid is easier to use

erasers white are best and easiest to use

    pencil case

    kleenex

apparently hand sanitizer but I never needed it

    backpack

    things for snacks/lunches

    shoes

My school never required us to bring supplies like playdough so I wouldn't know, recyling milk cartons and things like that for when their asked for might be a good idea. You can find playdough at dollar stores or even make your own with your child if you have to, even things like finger paint will be a big bottle for a dollar.

  2. A 5 year old is in first grade right?

You should get a list in the mail, that is what my child got so don't worry about it yet. If you don't get one i would still wait till the first day of school and see if they get a list of supplies.

  3. You school district or school should have a list online. I suggest you google it in. Also they should give out lists, but it looks like schools have gotten too cheap to even do that so look online or call.

It looks like children are expected to bring a ton of supplies. It looks as if the schools no longer supply anything and only are there to teach or babysit in most cases.

  4. a back pack for sure each school is different, you can check with the school they should have a list of things she will need, each teacher has different things they want their children to have.

  5. make sure she has snacks she can bring with her to school!

  6. I teach 4 year olds and I can give you my supply list and this will be a starter list for you... and then if the teacher asks you to bring anything extra then you can pick it up...

    pencil box

    markers

    crayons

    pencils

    scissors

    glue

    glue sticks

    pocket folders

    2 boxes of kleenex

    2 boxes of baby wipes

    2 packs of clorox wipes

    2 bottles of sanitizer

1 package of gallon size ziploc bags

2 packages of quart size ziploc bags

    finger paint

    2 packs of play-doh

and a backpack if you want them to have one

My friend teaches Kindergarten at the same school and is asking for the same things. This is the campus' basic list then the teachers can add or take off things if they choose. I would start with these things... also remember things to nap with...(pillow and blanket and mat) and then also remember to take an extra suit of clothes for summer and one for winter.... this should get you prepared

  7. Crayons

    Markers

    a few pencils

A pencil box to keep everything in

    eraser

5 year olds won't need much and the teacher will also help provide supplies. If they need to bring something specific- usually the teacher will let you know

  8. school bag, lunch box, water jug, ID holder, pencil, eraser, crayons, scissors, papers, coloring books (these are the most common necessary supplies for a five-year old kid in the school)
