HOW MANY BRUSHES DO I NEED? Please list them.

Is there an alternative to mac brushes?

How many shades of foundation/concealor/powder do I need? and from what company?

How do I find FREE people I can practice on? (like freelancing)

  1. WOW talk about a lot of questions :)

Ok basically the MOST BASIC items that you need in your kit are the following

Brushes: Powder Brush, contour brush, blusher brush, slanted eyebrow brush, eyeshadow brush ( at least 3 different widths) socket brush, concealer brush and eyebrow comb..THEY ARE THE BASIC ITEMS.

Make Up: SHADOWS:You will always use ur neutural colours for a variety of things ( eyeshadows palettes) so basic browns, beige, dark brown and black. For a bit of colour, u will always use a shimmer of some sort.. so a light gold shimmer.. you can always add outrages or bright colours gradually...

FOUNDATIONS: You will need at least 3-4 different shades of foundation in at least 2 different textures.Sometimes thick stick are more suitable to some skin textures , somtimes i use alot of cream foundations...by having 3-4 different shades you can blend/mix colours for most skin types..lightest to darkest..

You will need concealer.. to cover blemishes and redness.. you will definatly need  SKIN PRIMER.. which you use prior to foundation application..

POWDERS: Definatly a translucent powder, which is colourless/odourless but sets the foundation..

LIPS: Definatly the basics, RED, always versatile, you will need a pale light pink that can be used as a natural tone.. lipgloss .. as well as matching lip liner..

Mascara, Blushes ( 2 different shades), Moisturiser, Vaseline, cotton buds, baby oil as well as powder puffs a & sponges are all the basic necessary items that you will need.

As for brushes, im from sydney australia, good but overpriced brushes can be found in Napoleon stores, or for still good quality a bit cheaper, the body shop has some great alternatives.  A

If you have family and friends that have free time, they are the best to practise on..

i hope that helps.. please remember these are the BASIC items that you will need and can start practising with. Most of the items listed can be used for several differnt purposes...

    Good Luck :) x

  2. i've heard that you can use paint brushes as makeup brushes(and no i'm not kidding you!)they are good alternatives because makeup brushes are expensive like one brush could be as much as $40! i haven't tried it but i want to,but make sure to get the softest ones.sorry this isn't much help,i'm trying to get into makeup myself(as in eye makeup because all i wear is foundation,a powder, eyeliner and mascara,i don't wear mascara all the time though)
