A good poet or writer has the ability to draw the reader to the same emotional or physical place that the writer is seeing. Nothing draws me in more than when I feel I'm right there seeing and feeling what the writer is feeling. I think simplicity and sincerity of words is very effective.I've seen people try to impress others by talking "at" them rather than making the reader feel as though they are there  with them experiencing it.I have one poet friend whose style in the past was to write long and elaborate poems that often baffled many. Recently over the last year or two following some tragedies in her life, she now writes very simple, beautiful, honest and heartfelt words that have touched so many.

Someone who know what other people want to hear.A poet is one who has a heart that tries to grab their heart and expresses their love to be shown. A poet is a person in my mind is one who is lonely and the only way to show their sincerity is through poems. A poet has a dark side and a sunny side but they are loved even though they think they arent.
