  1. Like Anny said. It means that it is an honors class. It's harder than normal classes but not as hard as APs.  Whether it is weighted like an AP class depends on your school's policy. I remember at my high school, our HP classes were weighted A = 5, B = 4 ... etc. just like APs. The only problem was that you would not get college credit since you were not as prepared for the AP test (although you can still take the test). Also, other than the UC schools, I don't know any other universities that weighs HP classes like AP classes. For most universities, they will recalculate your GPA with Honors as regular classes if your school had counted as A = 5 etc.

  2. Its an Honors class,

    Honors Placement.
