  1. A driver's license and a credit card. And they may ask to see your passport.


  2. All we needed was a US Driver's License.  They also wanted to know where we were staying (or in our case, what cruise line we came in from)....Very easy process.  Oh, and according to our Triple A guidebook, US auto insurance is no good in Mexico.  We HAD to purchase the insurance for the vehicle too, but it wasn't terribly expensive.
