    AFR in Europe appears to be just as gruel and most likely didn't have purpose built trucks, most senior commanders in the field often had their maintainance units modify existing tractor trailers into mobile command post and I assume that the same was done for AFR to provide them with mobile stations.

    Of some interest would be the Operation Paperclip unit that captured German Recording equipment in Germany.  American recordings were still being cut onto 33.3 speed record discs which were prone to a great deal of back ground noise.  The Germans used both magnetic wire and metal tape recorders which when played back oftered no noticeable back ground noise.  This ended the days of live broadcast for AFR when they found they could record flawless programs to be played back at any time they desired.  The Germans had also perfected CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) in WWII which was the fore runner of modern day cable programming.
