  1. It has been used as a good luck ritual.  Two people each take an end and pull.  The one with the larger piece gets the luck.

  3. I would like to point out that wishbones were at one point part of a very serious psychokinesis experiment.

    Also, the wishbone symbolizes the struggle for dominance in life. The way to "cheat" on breaking them is to either pull toward you (giving the other person the luck by breaking it on your side) or lifting up and twisting a little (requires practice, but YOU WIN!).
