What does a bald spot on a finch mean?

What kind of finch? I have 2 Zebra finches, a male and a female.  The female had a huge bald spot on her chest, and I thought it was from stress. Well, I searched it up on the internet and found out it could be from her trying to make a nest.

if you have a male and female, it could mean they are breeding. it could also mean that it's being picked on. if the bird seems like it's not doing good or there is blood, you need to seperate them. if more feathers disappear, it's probably ok and mean the males just going at "it."
