What does a cats spray smell like?

I went to lay on my couch, but I guess the cat made it to the couch before me and I didnt see him until I accidently sat on him. He is almost 4 months old. I moved out of the way and he jumped up and left the room. I went to check on him to see if he was okay and he was fine, but now the whole living room smells like a "skunk". I have searched for fecal matter everywhere, but nothing. Could he have sprayed, farted, etc. lol.. I don't know what happened, but I have sprayed the apartment with air freshener 3 times, and I can not get this smell to leave. Any ideas.

the skunk like smell is cat urine. spraying it wont make it go away.. its actually really hard to get pet urine out  of fabric, you need to find out exactly where it is, steam clean it, and treat it with a pet urine neutralizing spray that they carry at Petco. good luck! i know its a pain!
