What does a charge on my bank acct for "Recovery of Forced Closed Account" mean?

I received a charge on my account that stated "Debit/Hold on 8/14" which has suddenly changed to "Recovery for Forced Closed Account." I cannot speak with my bank until tomorrow, so I am looking for any advice on this matter. Will I be able to receive any of that money back? What does that mean?

Thanks.

  1. It could mean that there is a problem with your account or with an account that owes you money. It would be best to check with the bank as soon as they open. Depending on the situation, it may be possible to recover the funds. Good luck!

  2. It means your account has been in the negative for more than two weeks and the bank has charged off (closed) your account. They have taken that money (i assume you made a deposit or there was a direct deposit into the account)  to make the account a $0.00 balance.

  3. you probably didn't have any money to get back - you were probably overdrawn and didn't make good on it
