  1. the clutch is what transfers energy (torque) from the engine to the transmission, when you step on the clutch or in your case pull it releases tension on the friction disk or drum (clutch) allowing the engine and transmission to spin at different speeds.   The reason you can shift your bike (or car truck ect) is that you actually synchronize the gears manually.  this is how most large trucks are shifted it is known as dead shifting.  I however dont recommend this for your dirt bike as you cant slide it in to neutral to properly sinc the gears and end up jaming them into place, a good way to break teeth off of the gears inside the transmission.

  2. "IF" you know how it is really better if your just banging it in it will f it up

As for trashing a car trans  I had a drag car with a 4 spd and all power shifts I never touched the clutch past launch

Also a 18 wheeler with a 20 spd main box -6 spd aux and a 2spd rear end i used the clutch 1 time to take off

  3. disengages power flow between engine and trans ,alows you to go into gear while stopped ,letting out lever lets clutch squeeze together locking engine to trans thus moving vehicle ,bike trans has gears cut to help shift without dissengaing clutch but if your not racing quit beating on it and pull in clutch when you shift, excessive slipping it on take off will smoke it,the material is alot like brake pad material

  4. The way car works and the way bikes work is different.  Do that and you DESTROY the car tranny.

There are few YouTube video on how do shift on a car without cltutching - but I guarantee you that those cars will not last.

Clutch basically disengages the engine from tranny, so the tranny can slow down or speed up to match the speed of the wheel.

    Good Luck....

  5. just use it
