  1. i agree with danE

  2. According to my "Pocket Ref" by Glover, "earth" weighs 125 pounds per cubic foot. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, so a yard of "earth" would weigh 3375 pounds! One step further, if you accept those figures, a cubic yard would be about 84 bags.

  3. Same thing as 27 cubic feet of dirt....hummmm....

  4. Your question is too broad for a specific answer.  What type of soil are you referring to?

My garden is high in partially decomposed organic matter which weighs less than sandy loam (void of water).  The composition of the soil (it's soil not dirt, dirt is what you vacuum off the carpet or wash from you hands) will be the determining factor as well as water saturation.

  5. determine the specific weights/mass per litre of gallon of the liquids and add those to the dry weight.mass of the dirt and you have the soppy wet weight.

or, find dry weight of dirt, then add that to the chemical weight of the substances mentioned (minus the H2O content).  these are almost completely salts and therefore heavy for elements in saturation with H2O but still without the liquid there is not very mch dry weight difference.

measure one cubic inch of dirt, then cube to a yard.
