I have been searching the internet all day about how to become a Detective but every site I check I get different answers. I like the idea of solving the crime and interrogateing suspects. Could you please tell what other things a detective does and some info about pay and how long it will take me to be one after I finish my degree in Biological sciences?

  1. The Detectives at our police station seem to drink tea or coffee all day not the best job go for somthing more interesting like forenics

  2. Having read your previous questions, it''s  clear you're not capable of doing either job you asked about as you don't even know where to look for details.

And Carswood, I've long doubted your credentials, but reading your answer to this question, it's clear you have no concept whatsoever of how the police work and have a total lack of knowledge of their career structure. Why do you make such obviously false claims?

  3. It would be helpfull to know what country you are in.

In the UK a detective is a person who works (usually) within CID or special branch. They are responsible for the detection of more serious crimes, i;e Rape, Murder and serious assaults etc.

In this country detectives have to pass a further policing exam other than the normal police basic training. You cannot just join the police and become one, you have to spend at least 2 years on normal patrol before you can apply.

  4. Carswood would make a good detective, here in Suffolk.  Grammar and spelling up to the police's usual standard.

  5. Detects
