What does a dream of your loved one drowning mean?

I had this dream that a few people (who I didn't know, or they didn't stand out) and my girlfriend jumped off this dock or something, and they all drowned.. no one could get to them and they all just drowned..

It's kind of freaking me out, what could that mean/indicate?

Don't panic, it might just mean that you worry about your girlfriend.  A few years ago when my niece was just a few months old i had a dream that she rolled over on a couch and was smothered.  I was panicked too, but she is 6 now and just fine.
