What does a dry socket feel like?

i had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled last thursday. they gave me about 4 days to re coop. well my best friend did this 2 years ago and ended up with a dry socket. she says the pain is really bad. does anyone have any other descriptions??

  1. Hi, I had a dry socket after getting a wisdom tooth out a few years back. Hurts for a week, fairly uncomforable  but nothing too bad, especially as you know exactly what it is. Not sure if you have one but the only thing I found to help was dipping a cotton bud into clove oil and dabbing that in the hole when needed. Tasted average but worked brilliantly.

  2. It is a tooth ache like nothing else. It hurts so bad that if you begin to hurt you will know that it is a dry socket. Not to worry though the surgeon can pack the hole with a numbing stuff.
