I know low prices and fun rides. Anything else? Also compare Cedar Point to King's Island.

  1. I don't think you can go for low prices if you want to differentiate yourself.

I did a college marketing paper contrasting these two parks, so here are some advantages and drawbacks of both.

Cedar point is focused on thrill rides - roller coasters. So, if you are not a big coaster fan, there's not the big appeal.

In contrast, King's Island uses a movie theme for most of the thrill rides (same as Walt Disney World or Universal Studios Islands of Adventure) That's King's Island's strength. When you ride a ride, you are experiencing more than thrills at KI. They use the various twists and turns hand in hand with a story.

I doubt if you can go for a cost-cutting strategy and a differentiation strategy. However, you can focus on discounts for certain things (ie, various gruops, charitable organizations, good grades, music fest, etc)

You need a variety of actitivities at the park, including shows and a lot of coasters, and various other rides. How about a special award for someone who completes riding so many rides in a day.

I love the idea that Michigan's Adventure uses. They have an all-in-one price for both the theme park and the water park. (You can only get to the water park through the theme park)

What you need to do to design a great amusement park is to have activities for all ages that will keep anyone happy for an entire day. Plenty of thrill rides for those who are able to handle them, but also some great shows and slower activities (such as a lazy river) for those who cannot handle the thrill rides.

  2. Magic, thats all it needs, Magic

  3. Kings Island and all amuesment parks need skip to the front passes

  4. lots of great rides, good shows and reasonably priced food.

    :o)

  5. Something for everyone. I myself like the tall, fast, death-defying twisted steel monster coasters lol. But a good park also needs to have resources available for the handicapped, clean and stocked restrooms in plain view, plenty of things for kids to do, tamer rides for those who aren't into big thrills, a wide variety of food, a "sky ride" where everyone can go up and get a view of the park and take photos, friendly employees, a theme with some of their rides and attractions (like new movies or popular cartoons), souvenir shops for those traveling from far away, and you just can't have a park without a Ferris wheel, because it is a classic.

  6. out of control screaming rides bomb *** food flash passes lots of population

  7. I like Bush Gardens because there is so much to do that the lines for the rides are not that long. Also it has the best food. Gary Dominicus
