What does a house keeper do at a hotel, and what is a hotel hostess?

Hey, I applied at Best Western and they called me back and left a voicemail.

She said they are currently hiring house keepers and hostesses.

What are the job duties of each of these?

My wife was a house keeper at a hotel once.You've got to vacuum the rooms strip the beds and put on new sheets and pillow cases wipe off everything and clean and re supply the bathroom.You also have the hall way to sweep.It's really a hard job.And all those supplies have to be carried by you, up the stairs.I'm not sure about the hostess job.
