I mean, like if a good friend were to hug you or even someone you liked, perhaps even a stranger were to, how would you feel and what would it mean to you?

also, what was the most meaningful/fondly remembered/best hug you ever gave/recieved?

  1. A hug may be a mark of affection...or merely a conventional, largely

    meaningless gesture.

My most meaningful/fondly remembered hugs were part of saying

    farewell to a lover.

  2. Me and my friends hug each other all the time.  It's our way of showing that we care for each other, and it's a big comfort if one of is feeling down.  Hugging someone I like always feels a little extra special.  I love my boyfriends hugs.  I have hugged strangers, but those usually are usually just mutual friends and if anything the hug gives me an idea of what type of person this friend is (such as they like hugs and aren't shy).

One of my favorite hug memories was when I was counselling at a camp, I had a severe asthma attack and was brought by ambulance to the hospital.  I came back late at night, and in the morning, as soon as he had the chance, my boyfriend immediately gave me a big hug.  It was kinda his way of saying he was worried, but was glad I was back and was alright.
