I can't take magnesium citrate because it gives me veeerry weird disturbing symptoms, so I need a good bio-available source of magnesium. I've been reading that chlorophyll is a great natural source of magnesium, I'm just worried I won't take it if it tastes like wheat grass or something. If it does, is there a good way of disguising the taste or making it taste better?

  1. Since no one really answered your question I will. It tastes and smells like a fish tank that needs to be cleaned. They add mint flavor to some. The only brand I can stand that's not bad is Natures Way. But if you can't stand it put the plain flavor in juice. Your juice turns dark green but you can't taste a thing. Give it a try, if it doesn't work it's definitely not going to hurt anything. Good luck!

  2. first question...why do you need to take magnesium?  Unless you have a proven deficiency, there is no reason for a supplement.  The sorts of people who tend to have Mg deficiencies are chronic alcoholics, who have generally poor nutrition.

Chlorophyll is derived from green plants, and does have some magnesium associated with it, as do all plant.  Your best natural source of magnesium is fresh green vegetables. (broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, leaf lettuce)   A lot cheaper and more palatable than the health food extracts.

  3. It tastes like candy. Very yummy. I you don't like candy then eat it the supplement with broccoli.

  4. I use all natural OsteoMatrix.  It has taken care of my problem with charlie horses.  It contains calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and boron.  Best time to take it is just before bedtime.

  5. The high strength liquid chlorophyll that I am familiar with is spearmint flavored.

Although the chlorophyll in alfalfa and other sources contains magnesium "liquid chlorophyll" doesn't as the magnesium is replaced by copper during the extraction from alfalfa.  "Chlorophyll gel caps", however, are rich in magnesium.

All nuts are rich in magnesium.
