What does a magic memory card do.....and what does it do for the pandora battery?

do u need a memory card for a the pandora memory card to work.....oh and if i get a magic memory card will that make my screen go back on because only the the green light is on after i did the pandora battery and the screen wasnt

I was confused about this a while ago also. The magic memory card has specific files on it that put custom firmware on your PSP when it is in the special condition that the pandora's battery puts it in.

The magic memory card contains crucial files for the boot up sequence of the PSP. Insert the card with the Pandora battery into the PSP, turn it on, and tell it to copy the files directly into its flash ROM.
