Obviously I know they sell medical equipment, but what does their day entail? Hours? Travel? Paperwork? etc

Any insight would be appreciated!

  1. Hi Ashley!  I am a medical sales rep.  Your question covers a lot of areas that depend on the particular job.  Overall, my day involves quoting equipment to potential customers & existing customers, following up on previous quotes, scheduling future events (trade shows, demos, etc), tracking shipments/returns, communicating with distributors, etc.  My hours of work per day varies drastically on the time of the day/week/month/quarter.  I work from home and have for last 10 years.  Some days I work 12 hours without ever leaving my house or getting out of my pj's.  Some days I take the day off and detox from work all together.  I love this industry and am grateful to have a part in it.  If you would like more specific info or suggestions on how to get into the industry, you can email me at salezladee@yahoo.com.  I am not a recruiter but have worked as a full time medical rep for 10 years.  I plan to retire doing medical sales & hope to get there way before I meet qualifications for social security!  It is a great career.  The demands are directly related to your income goals.  This is one of the best ways for a person to have the lifestyle of a small business owner without the risks & overhead.  Good luck to you!  =)
