What does a mucous plug look like?

I am 37 weeks and 5 days pregnant, i went in to the doctors yesterday and was told that i am 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. My doctor while checking my cervix, stripped my membrane. Later after my appointment that day, later on that night I went to the bathroom and when i wiped i had ALOT of discharge with a brown tent (blood). I am wondering about whether or not this was my mucous plug, beings that the doctor told me i would spot a little and ive had some dicharge since the beginning of my 3rd trimester. Could it be it was my mucous plug, or just my discharge with the spotting? There was alot of it.

it may have been your mucus plug. mine was just like a red blob of blood.

Mine was slight blood and a clear. If it was brown that indicates old blood. It is prob you spotting due him stripping your membrane. If your worried I would def get checked you can never be to careful..good luck and congrats!

it probably was your mucous plug i haven't lost mine yet (sadly) but iv read up on it and the way you describe it sounds like it is your mucous plug

it looks like snot sometimes with slight bloody discharge in it as well... mucous plug looks like slimy thick snotty mucous-- gooey
