What does a newspaper layout artist do?

i want to know what does it need to be one, too.

next week i'll be taking a qualifying exam to become one. granted that i passed the test, hat are the things that needs to be done?

will i be the one making the pictures and photos? drawing and illustrations? or just the positioning of the write ups and illustrations?

In most cases this would be the person who will place the already designed ads onto the page and then fit the stories in. If it is in a classified ad department of the paper it will be laying out the classifieds so that they all fit. It is a rather fun job if you enjoy puzzles.
