  1. Check the guidelines and requirements in your state. You may need to take some classes at a local college. I believe those courses are early childhood classes. First find out your state requirements. Good luck!

  2. Talk to the "City" may need special forms and also may need someone to come in to inspect for safety/codes, fenced in yard.  You have to know how many children you are allowed to watch in your home; and also how many children per adult.  Do you need to be certifified in CPR/chocking.  Ask them for a contact list and check list to help you out

  3. I would at least go for a two year diploma.  Do consult licensing at the local community agency though.  You may need additional coursework and could direct you to the actual forms about building requirements as they are now.  This would give you an idea of what to look for you.  You will also need basic accounting, human resources law, etc to effectively run your own business.

  4. Besides your degree and a license, as well as coursework in first aid and CPR, you need insurance, you need to make sure that your house is zoned for being a home daycare (some communities may not allow it), you need a place designated only for the home daycare (separate from the rest of the house) in many states. Check with your state's licensing bureau. But for now, work on developing good people skills and a strong philosophy on educating children.

  5. You do not need a diploma,
