What does a person with an intense presence seem like?

This is obviously a subjective question. I need specific details of a person with an intense presence, such as personality characteristics, outward appearances, mannerisms, and especially: how other react to a person who has an intense presence. Personal experiences/stories would be appreciated, but optional.

  1. I think you might be referring to charisma. Gandhi had it - he was well educated, caring, humble and of unique appearance. His great political influence is of magnificent proportion in recent history.

I hope this helps. Best wishes. UK

  2. I know people with several types of intense presences.

One we'll call D. D is really tall and is emotionally involved in every word he says. When he talks he gets a really far-off look in his eyes, like he's really seeing what he's talking about. His tone of voice is generally very low and soft, yet intense. When he makes eye contact, you have a hard time looking away but yet really want to look away. He's the kind of intense that makes people uncomfortable because he doesn't engage in small talk, but always fills conversations with emotion.

Another is B. B is the kind of person who fills any space he's in. Think of a performer with a really great stage presence; you just want to watch him. He's really comfortable with himself and his surroundings, and it makes you comfortable. He always has something to say, and it's usually just the right thing for the moment. He is intense because he's fully in the moment, more so than anyone else.

Finally, we have R. R is an older gentleman and lets his life experience show through his every movement. He too fills the entire space he's in, but in less of a way then B. R moves with this kind of buoyant energy that kind of reminds you of little flashes of light filling a clear ball. His intensity comes from his passion, energy and wisdom. He attacks everything with vigor and pulls you right in with him. Emotions are central to his life, and he has a greater understanding of things than he'll ever let on. His brand of intensity makes people slightly uncomfortable as it asks for a lot of respect but always returns it. For this reason, people both flock to him but are afraid of him at the same time.

What these three share is a full awareness of the moment around them. In general, an intense person is so focused on life that they forget to just chill sometimes. Depending on who you're with and what kind of intense you are, people will either love you or avoid you.

  3. It depends on the person who said or wrote that phrase is trying to say. There are lots of words and phrases being misused. For example people say "on behalf of" when they should say "on the part of".So the best person to ask is the one who said it.  It could mean  someone who is very focused.
