What does a picture framer do?

Not to sound stupid or anything (although I probably do), do they frame pictures? I really want to know.

yes they build frames, cut mats, cut glass, measure pictures to determine sizes for the frame and mat, they often help customers select an appropriate frame material.

simply they are involved in all steps from the time a customer brings in a picture until the finished product is delivered.
