what does it mean when you getta port and polish on ur engine?

  1. its when you make the holes between your heads and intake manifold fit to gether perfectly. you can make the holes bigger also. then you polish the in-sides to make airflow better from the intake manifold to your heads.


  2. The intake and heads are cast/milled, and the ports don't always line up perfectly. Porting the engine means grinding them down so they line up. When this is done there are burrs, so polishing cures this issue.

  3. It means that the cavity from the valves to the exhaust outlet (where the exhaust manifold or headers bolt to the head) has been enlarged and the surfaces polished. This allows for the faster transfer of exhaust gases out of your engine thus increasing engine performance.
